Antonio Morales
✝ Founder"God's wrath is revealed against all ungodliness and unrighteousness because people suppress the truth. Instead of embracing what they know to be right, they push it aside and choose their own way. God has made Himself known to humanity. Evidence of His existence and power can be seen throughout creation. The beauty, order, and complexity of the world reveal that there is a Creator. Because of this, people are without excuse. Even though many people recognize that God exists, they refuse to honor Him or give Him thanks. As a result, their thinking becomes empty and confused, and their hearts become spiritually darkened. Claiming to be wise, they actually become foolish. They exchange the glory of the eternal God for idols and images made to resemble people, animals, and other created things. Because they reject Him, God allows them to follow the sinful desires of their hearts. Their lives become filled with impurity and actions that dishonor both themselves and others. They exchange God's truth for lies. Instead of worshiping the Creator, they worship created things. They place their trust and devotion in things that were never meant to take God's place. As people continue to reject God's ways, He allows them to pursue the desires they have chosen. Their passions and actions move further away from His design and purpose. Because they do not want to acknowledge God, He allows them to experience the consequences of a corrupted mind. Their ability to discern right from wrong becomes distorted. Their lives become filled with all kinds of sin and wickedness. They are consumed by greed, envy, hatred, deceit, conflict, and malicious intentions. They become people who gossip, slander others, and live in pride and arrogance. They resist God and become disobedient. They invent new ways to do evil and disregard the authority and wisdom that God has established. They lack understanding, faithfulness, love, compassion, and mercy. Their hearts become hardened toward both God and other people. Even though they know deep within that these actions are wrong, they continue practicing them. More than that, they encourage others to do the same. The central message of this passage is that humanity has rejected God and suffers the consequences of that rejection. God reveals Himself, but many choose not to follow Him. As sin grows, it affects the mind, heart, and behavior of a person. This passage is not merely about condemning certain sins; it is part of a larger message. The Apostle Paul is building the case that all people have sinned and all people need salvation. Romans 1 reveals humanity's problem. The rest of Romans points to God's solution through Jesus Christ. The good news is that while God's wrath is revealed against sin, His mercy is revealed through Christ. Through faith in Jesus, people can be forgiven, restored, and reconciled to God. What sin destroys, God's grace can redeem."
